G20 summit held in India has addressed several issues very successfully. Vasudev Kutumbkam meaning ‘One Earth One Family One Future’, was the theme of the summit; it should be the motto of all beings on this earth. African Union has been included in the summit for the first time. Many countries unanimously signed documents on so many issues; despite differences on Ukraine issue, there was 100% consensus on New Delhi declaration; Global biofuel alliance has been made. India-Middle East-Europe economic corridor will be developed. ‘Sabka saath sabka vishwaas’ -has become a global mantra now. India plays a major role, a decisive role on the world pedestal now.
Some periods become periods of pride for the nation. The last month has been such a period of achievement and recognition for our country. Space programs have brought glory to India. With Chandrayaan-3 landing on Moon successfully on 23 Aug 2023, India becomes the first nation to land on Southern side of Moon. The whole nation watched the landing while our hearts swelled with pride. Aditya-L1 has been launched on 2 Sep 2023 effectively and we have to wait for some months to see the results. India running the vimshottari dasha of Moon-Venus, both dasha lords placed in the third house of travel and communication, taking us to Moon, towards Sun, is marvellous indeed. 3 August 2011, 7:57 AM
The great BJP stalwart in south India called Yeddyurappa who single handedly created a base for BJP and captured a state through election, falls now because of a report of Justice Hedge, which has indicted him and another non-Congress chief minister, Kumarswamy, leaving out all previous Congress chief ministers. That question is being asked and no one has given an answer yet. The report will be challenged in a court of law and there will be more mudslinging.

For the very first time prime minister Manmohan Singh appears to have a tarnished image not as a corrupt man but as a lotus leaf floating over a cesspool of corruption he knew of and connived at, to safeguard his own position. The change will be change in his own position is what can be seen and predicted though his horoscope of 26 September is doubtful. How he survived July 2004 is getting exposed now through the revival of cash for vote’s scandal now.

In advancing teenage, our generation which could read English well and was brought up on Coleridge, Wordsworth, Shelley, Keats and Byron, have stored in our minds with the memories of the communal orgies of 1946-47, the dawn of independence on the night of 14/15 August 1947. We, the children of freedom fighters, had kept awake till midnight when came the sonorous voice of Omkarnath Thakur heralding Indian Independence with Vande Mataram.

Arun Jaitley’s speech in Rajya Sabha asking the prime minister how can conditions be laid on agitators was brilliant incisive and confused and exposed the government: what will be the size of protest, the duration of protest etc. raised some fundamental democratic principles. It shows how ludicrous can be the government stand to justify the action against Anna Hazare. It shows thickening confusion, chaotic thinking.
