Esteemed Guruji Shri K. N. Rao, who is now 90 years old, says he doesn’t remember a single time when Afghanistan got such wide publicity in Indian media as it is getting now. The reason is obvious, the TV channels are running 24/7 now and Afghanistan is actually running through a real crisis. Being on the Frontier of India, next to Kashmir, India is much concerned about the developments there.
“Khichdi” well prepared is very delicious. Some housewives I have met all over India during my movements and later, postings, deserve from me, heart felt praise and gratitude for serving it when I ate it at their places. But as a nationalist Indian I detest a “khichdi” government as Indira Gandhi used to call coalition governments during her aggressive election speeches in her famous election victory of the seventies of the last century, some of which I heard, particularly one in Rajkot in Gujarat.
A Congress party, now without a charismatic leader and an internal factions-ridden BJP evokes before us the nightmare of a “fourth front” government after the national elections of 2013-14, says a very perceptive political analyst.
Three national parties, he says, the Congress, the BJP and the Communist party will not form the next government after the next general elections whenever that takes place he says. I will call the communist, a quarter national party, because outside Bengal, Kerala and Tripura, we notice its presence only during the strikes it calls in other states and disrupts traffic. It will be a fourth front he says excluding the three national parties, the Congress, the BJP and the communists, the battered, shattered and scattered parties of 2012.
May be he is right. Over a period of many years I found his analysis very sound and insightful.
The first coalition at the center The first coalition government at the center in India was in Mercury-Rahu period in 1977 to the end of Mercury-Jupiter till January 1980, headed by Morarji Desai when there was no price rise and we had best of relations with Pakistan which honored Morarji with its highest title, Nishaan-e-Pakistan.
Venus Mahadasha
It was in the mahadasha of Venus (from 1989) that most of the coalition governments were formed and the trend continues, the splendor of Venus gave us multi-party rule. A young Maharastrian astrologer always describes Venus as the lord of sixty four arts India’s Serial Elections: Khichdi Front or kalas. In the case of India, we have been witnessing more than sixty four “kalas” of politicians in this dasha. In this mahadasha, came the concept of minimum common programme meaning that each party allows its ideology to get drowned in the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea or the Ganga and the Yamuna. The only unwritten understanding of the coalition partners has been that each party can collect money with multiple hands and the other party will not protest till that unromantic constitutional dignitary called the Comptroller and Auditor General of India produces a documented report on it and places it before the parliament as he did in the case of 2 G scam and Commonwealth Games in 2011 (and many more many times before) and the English television news channels of India invite their circus parties of experts to discuss them as they are now discussing what they call the Coalgate, “gate” being an Americanism for scandals, embezzlement and whatever Americans may want it to mean in future.
Is that what we are going to witness after the next national elections? See it astrologically.
1976-77
Indira Gandhi’s masterly miscalculation after lifting in January 1977, the national emergency she had imposed in June 1975, is said to have been based on a flattering intelligence report that other political parties whose leaders had been kept in the jail were demoralized and shattered and, that her party would win the general elections easily, led to her own defeat and the rout of her party in Hindi speaking states. A patch work government of different parties was formed at the center called the Janata government.
Relevant for it the Hindu New Year horoscope of 30 March 1976.
Here the tenth lord is in with the eighth lord and Mars in the eighth house. The afflicted fifth lord in the sixth house shows multiple coalition miscarriages.
In the Congress party, the post of the prime minister has been the monopoly of a well-known dynasty. In an election speech of his a Congress minister in the cabinet of Manmohan Singh had said even in 2012 that if Rahul Gandhi wanted he could become India’s prime minister “tonight”. In a coalition government a leader’s bargaining strength and manipulative skill decides the issue as Charan Singh proved in July 1979 and Morarji had to quit. Then Charan Singh sat at home for six months without facing the parliament when Sanjay Gandhi, after promising the support of the Congress party, withdrew it. The dynasty was back in 1980 January when the Saturn sub period in Mercury mahadasha began. The honeymoon of the coalition powers was over so soon.
Venus Mahadasha: the dynasty fades
1) The beginning of the Venus mahadasha saw V.P. Singh implicate Rajiv Gandhi, another dynasty man, in Bofors scandal and become the prime minister, outwitting Chandrasekhar through the trickery of Biju Patnaik.( Ven-Ven-Ven).
2) V.P. Singh dropped a Jat minister, Devilal from his cabinet and Devilal announced a massive kisan march in August 1990. Two days before that V.P. Singh played, what he thought, was his trump card, of giving reservations to backward classes on the basis of the Mandal Commission Report.
(History was repeating because when Morarji had dropped the Jat leader, Charan Singh in 1978. A kisan march in Delhi was announced by Charan Singh in the month of December that year. Morarji announced the constitution of the Mandal Commission two days before the kisan march. Mandal of the commission fame owes his resurrection to two Jats though Mr. B.P. Mandal had excluded Jats from the list of backward classes in his trouble creating, unscientifically investigated report.)
To prevent V.P. Singh from consolidating his power, L.K.Advani of the BJP took out a rathyatra and BJP withdrew from his government causing its fall. (Ven-Ven-Rahu).
To avoid a mid-term election, Rajiv Gandhi of the dynasty, with more than one hundred and eighty members of his party, offered to support, Chandrasekhar in 1990. Chandrasekhar himself had the support of only fifty or more members of the parliament. In 1979 his late younger brother, Sanjay Gandhi had tricked Charan Singh.
Five months after Chandrasekhar had become Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, emulating his late younger brother, withdrew support, in 1991. (Ven-Ven-Rahu again) Elections were announced in which Rajiv Gandhi, the third prime minister of the dynasty was killed, and the Congress government came into power, for the first time, with a non-dynastic P.V.Narasimha Rao but with a minority which he managed with an adroitness which would have amazed even Chanakya. The high water mark of this period was liberalization of Indian economy leading to the boom we have witnessed since 1991 and, of course the rise of Manmohan Singh who pursues his political ambitions noiselessly, unostentatiously and knows the art of creating a top base, not a mass base.
Narasimha Rao’s period ended in Venus-Mars-Mercury and he was also hounded out of the Congress party by the sycophants of the dynasty with the Italian daughter in law waiting in the wings to rise now. I had predicted in my Rediff column as SONIA GANDHI'S POLITICAL CAREER WILL ACCELERATE AFTER
1998...
======================
The year was 1996. See the Hindu New Year horoscope of this year.
Five planets are in the eighth house with Mars and the tenth lord is aspected by the eighth lord.
We had the thirteen day government of Atal Behari Vajpayee and then came H. D. Deve Gowda who was in office from 1 June 1996 to 21 April 1997. The Congress Party and other smaller parties including the left provided outside support to him in order to provide a stable Government and prevent snap-polls.
Then came Inder Kumar Gujral as new leader and he was sworn in as Prime Minister on 21 April 1997. There were some internal quarrels in the Government. The Congress government again withdrew support, third time scoring a political hat trick. Mid-term elections were called. Third Front governments limped out of power twice. The Congress party specializes in withdrawing support.
For some months I wrote a column for the Rediff and predicted
CRYSTAL BALL January 24, 1998 K N Rao - BJP will snatch a sensational victory
I had predicted it also in a Hindi newspaper and also in a television interview.
NDA under Atal Behari Vajpayee of the BJP came into power, and was stabbed by Jayalalitha in October 1999 (Ven-Rahu-Ketu). The Congress party tried to form the government with the dynastic bahu trying to become the prime minister. She had asked her mother to come from Italy and witness her coronation. But Mulayam Singh of SP delivered his finest political googly and refused to support her.
And elections had to be held.
The same NDA under Vajpayee came back to power and completed full five years. (Ven-Sat-Sun) (I failed with my prediction this time as I was busy fighting the case for astrology in the Supreme Court of India, waiting for the judgment and, was disgusted with all those astrologers who too could have intervened in this court case since they can speak in English but chickened out. I was distracted).
Now came UPA I into power. It was again a coalition under Manmohan Singh (Ven-Saturn-Moon). Venus had kept the dynasty out and a second non dynastic Congress man, other than P.V.Narasimha, but a turbaned disciple of Narasimha Rao, became the prime minister. The end of Venus mahadasha came now. (September 2009).
The turbaned prime minister continues even in the Sun mahadasha, a gentleman, incorruptible, an intellectual, a famous economist with his top base intact but mass base missing.
At present, in Sun-Jupiter, political earthquakes are taking place. Fear exists now that in the Coalgate even the prime minister may be involved.
Questions are being asked --what type of government we are going to have if elections are held in 2013-2014.
See the horoscope Hindu New Year of 10 April 2013 for 15/04 with Simha rising.
1. Five planets are in the eighth house along with the tenth lord. (see the similarity with 1996 New Year chart)
2. There is an exchange of the tenth and eighth lords.
Do you see unstable government leading either to changes of government with or without mid-term polls, ahead of us?
There can be four types of khichdi governments:
1) With the Congress party in it or,
2) With the BJP party in it or,
3) A third front government or
4) As the political analyst said, a fourth front in meaning without the Congress party, the BJP or communists joining or even supporting it from outside.
We astrologers cannot predict or even pretend to, because we do not have, never have, all the needed authentic horoscopes of national and regional leaders and the horoscopes of the political parties involved in the macabre cabaret of Indian elections. And who knows which regional leader will crop up like a cockroach from where as Deve Gowda had in 1998?
Well, your guess then is as good a mine.
