JOE BIDEN - THE DEMOCRATIC CHECKMATE TO REPUBLICANS

American presidential elections are one of the most watched and followed elections in the world.  therefore, it is not surprising to see advanced predictions by astrologers, on charts of presidential candidates as well as their most important supports- the vice presidential candidates.

Since Obama's chart was not available and even the charts which are currently being worked upon being dubitable, Joe Biden's chart appeared to be predominantly correct and strong from as early as August 2007, when I had first started working on it. Discussed below is the reasoning behind it.

Before working on any chart, it is important to validate the chart. Some of the important points of validation are checking the bio facts against the dashas and checking the yoga’s against the person’s education and profession. The bio facts remain unchanged throughout the life of the person and in determination of the field of education; the accuracy of a chart gets confirmed since navamsha plays a pivotal role.

The analysis is being done using the conditional dasha system of Dwisaptati Sama

(DSS) Dasha, wherein there are eight mahadasha's of Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and Rahu, in that order totaling to 72 years. The cycle repeats thereafter. The antardashas are proportionally distributed as their mahadasha period. The parameters of analysis are same as the Parashari principles.

This chart becomes all the more interesting because the gentleman is in his second cycle of dwisaptati sama dasha. So let us begin from the beginning.

1. Dasha at birth

He was born on November 20, 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania at 8.30 hrs. The dasha was Moon/Venus. The antardasha at birth should connect with the lagna/ lagna lord of the birth chart/ navamsha, is one of the first things taught to an astrologer. Venus is the antardasha lord placed in the lagna of the birth chart and it is the Navamsha lagna lord itself.

2. Siblings

He has two brothers and a sister. Siblings are born in dashas connected to the third/eleventh houses/lords of birth chart Dreshkona is the chart for siblings, hence, its lagna/ lagna lord can also be active during the birth dasha of siblings.

His first younger brother was born in the mahadasha of Moon. In the birth chart, Moon is aspected by the eleventh lord Mercury while in dreshkona, it has no connectivity. In absence of the exact date of birth of the brother, it is logically (on the basis of natural biological gap between him and the next sibling) derived that he must have taken birth around 1944, which is likely to be the antardasha of Saturn. In birth chart, Saturn is third lord and in dreshkona, it is the eleventh lord. The antardasha of Rahu, which follows subsequently, could also be the time of the birth of the sibling since Rahu's dispositor is the eleventh lord Mercury in birth chart and in dreshkona, its dispositor is Sun aspecting third house. In either antardasha, the brother could have been born.

A sister was born in 1946 in either Moon/Sun or Mars/Mars, since the exact date of birth could not be collected. The mahadasha of Moon has been explained in the previous sibling's case. The antardasha of Sun is potent to give siblings since it is aspected by third lord Saturn in birth chart and aspects the third house in dreshkona. In case of Mars mahadasha and antardasha, it does not require much explanation since Mars is the natural significator for siblings. In birth chart, Mars aspects third house and is conjunct with eleventh lord. In dreshkona, Mars again aspects third house, eleventh lord and is aspected by lagna lord Jupiter.

The third sibling, a brother, was born after 1952. The mahadasha was Mars up to May 1954, which is potent to give a sibling. Mercury mahadasha which follows is equally potent to bring a sibling to this world by virtue of its eleventh lordship in birth chart and receipt of Saturn, eleventh lord's aspect in dreshkona.

3. Health problems

Mars mahadasha begins in 1946 and is up to 1955. Mars, as a lagna lord should prove fruitful, however, it also has the sixth lordship and a twelfth house placement with sixth lord in birth chart. In navamsha, the situation is not improved, when as second and seventh lord, it is placed in the sixth house and aspects lagna. This connectivity of lagna, sixth house and twelfth house in both birth chart and navamsha indicates illness to the body. Therefore, it is not surprising to learn that he had his tonsils and adenoids removed at the age of nine years. Mars is also the natural significator for surgery.

The antardasha at that time was Saturn. For illness to body, the sixth, eighth or twelfth along with the lagna should be getting activated in the dasha sequence. In birth chart, Saturn aspects lagna, is aspected by sixth lord Mars from twelfth house and is also aspected by twelfth lord Venus. In navamsha, Saturn is afflicted under Rahu/Ketu axis, placed with twelfth lord and aspects the lagna lord. It is also aspected by Mars, the second and seventh lord, from the sixth house. 

In February 1988, Biden was hospitalized for two brain aneurysms which kept him from the U.S. Senate for seven months. The way Biden has coped with the adversities in his life, makes one admire him- whether it was relearning how to perform basic activities of life after the aneurism or coping with his wife & child's death (discussed later). Sat/Mars ends on 28th February and considering the role of Mars in his previous illness, it is not surprising to note that he was seriously ill in the same antardasha again, much later in his life.

This dasha was followed by Saturn/Mercury for more than a year, in which he has suffered. It was a near death experience, therefore the second and seventh house must've gotten activated. The mahadasha lord Saturn is in seventh from lagna in birth chart and the seventh lord from lagna lord of navamsha. Saturn is repeatedly afflicted by Mars. Mercury is heavily afflicted in both the charts and is in 6/8 axis in birth chart. It is placed in twelfth house of hospital and in the navamsha, it is the twelfth lord.
