SCANTY MONSOON OF INDIA
The Meteorology division had earlier said that the monsoon would be arriving in June, then they had said it would arrive on the 8th of July, but there is no sign of the monsoon still. Meteorology division it at best a weather reporter not a weather forecaster. It should be remembered that the Indian Meteorological Department can not give any forecast long enough to be of use to the agriculturists of the country. And India being an agri-economy largely, weather forecasts are all the more important. The Hindu astrological method of predicting rainfall is a scientific method spread over a period of at least 6 months observation, stage by stage. read more...read more...
AFGHANISTAN IN HISTORY & LEGEND (Part-I)

Esteemed Guruji Shri K. N. Rao, who is now 90 years old, says he doesn’t remember a single time when Afghanistan got such wide publicity in Indian media as it is getting now. The reason is obvious, the TV channels are running 24/7 now and Afghanistan is actually running through a real crisis. Being on the Frontier of India, next to Kashmir, India is much concerned about the developments there.

WILL SATURN SCORE A HATTRICK IN OCTOBER 2007 ?

More out of curiosity than solid astrological basis, it struck me suddenly whether
Saturn in Simha in the same navamsha as Ketu will cause three major political upsets in three countries, India, Pakistan and Burma (Mynamar) in the month of October?

Pakistan
In Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf has been allowed to contest election for the post of the president but the judicial order on the controversial issue will be delivered by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on 17 October. The case in Pakistan is reported here thus.

Court to resume hearing in case against Musharraf’s candidature on 17th
By Sohail Khan

ISLAMABAD: A larger bench of the Supreme Court on Friday allowed the holding of presidential election as scheduled today (Saturday) but barred the issuance of a notification of the result till a final decision on the petitions, challenging Gen Musharraf’s candidature.

....the Bench unanimously resolved and directed that the election process already commenced shall continue as per schedule notified by the chief election commissioner,” Justice Javed Iqbal, who is heading the 10-member Bench, said while announcing the decision in a short order.

“But the final notification of the election of the returned candidate shall not be issued till the final decision on these petitions,” he said. The court will resume hearing on October 17. Presidential candidates Justice (Retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed and Makhdoom Amin Fahim, candidates for the presidential election, had approached the apex court pleading for the disqualification of Gen Musharraf on multiple legal and constitutional grounds.
Absence of final notification of election results is being seen by legal experts a little hope for the agitating lawyers, who want complete enforcement of the Constitution which bars a government employee from contesting elections. The court has yet to decide merit of the case. (http://thenews.jang.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=10485)

It is a highly interesting legal tangle. From what I little I know of constitutional law, I cannot see how if the Constitution of Pakistan bars a government employee from contesting election, the candidature of General Pervez Musharraf, a government employee, be valid at all. An adverse verdict will create an unprecedented crisis in Pakistan.

The horoscope of Pakistan which I discussed in my article on Uncertain Future of Musharraf confirms this inference of mine.

Burma
As to Burma, the conjunction of Saturn and Ketu is occurring in the tenth house from its Vrischika lagna and Mars is in the eighth house. The agitation of saffron clad monks who have joined students will make it a mass agitation with even some soldiers in the army, who have respect for the monks and have themselves been in monasteries in their teens, revolting against the dictator Than Shwe.

The planetary position of 17 October 2007 appears alarming to me. Saturn, Ketu are in the same navamsha and in navamsha are aspected by Mars and Jupiter.

I am taking the 10 am position of 17 October for the purpose of this prediction.

In bhava chart Saturn, Venus and Ketu will be conjoined in the tenth house Mars in the eighth house aspecting Moon in Dhanu can cause a judicial upset for General Pervez Musharraf and an assassination attempt in Burma or Mynamar.

India.
In India the UPA government and the leftists have reached irreconcilable positions. It is a matter of days for the leftists to announce the withdrawal of support to this government.

If Saturn causes this upset, it is, borrowing a cricketing word, a hattrick--- capturing three wickets consecutively in three balls.

NOTE 1

UK

It is not unlikely if this Saturn Ketu conjunction helps Gordon Brown of England make up his mind for a midterm poll.

I am aware of election heat in USA but not the details. I am stressing this because Saturn the planet of democracy conjoining Ketu can lead to some sudden and unexpected developments, against dictatorships and in favor of democratic agitations or elections.

India’s two neighbors, Myanmar and Pakistan are under dictatorships. It will be interesting to see if they have some upsetting experience.

NOTE 2

One need not wait for 17 October. Since Saturn and Ketu are already in the name navamsha, it can happen anytime even now. It is an experimental prediction and worth watching. It is how we can learn more in mundane area. In any case, October is the month of political uncertainties in many countries of the world.
