WITHERING AWAY OF CONGRESS PARTY
Is ours an ideal democracy!! Hardly so, it is far from being an ideal democracy; where there should be  two equal opponents, like Conservative and Labour party in Britain; like Republican and Democratic party in USA. As for India, for the two major parties here i.e. Congress and BJP there has never been a state of relative equilibrium. There was a time when Congress was all powerful for a long time, BJP had not come into existence then. BJP came into existence and gradually spread its wings and the status now of present election result on 23 May 2019 is that BJP alone bagged 303 seats and 353 seats along with its NDA Alliance. Congress on the other hand could muster only 52 seats; along with UPA, Congress got 91. Other parties won 98 seats. What to talk of equality, Congress party could not win even 55 seats which is the requisite 10 % to become the official opposition. read more...read more...

HOW MUCH DOWNPOUR !! (PART II)

ARDRA PRAVESH

Horoscope made for the time when Sun enters Ardra nakshatra (6 degrees 40 minutes Mithun rashi) is the chart to be assessed for rains in the North of India. It is a chart made around 22-23 June each year. When Sun is in Mrigshira, which is in end of May, South West monsoon strikes Kerala; when Sun enters Ardra, monsoon moves towards the North of India. When Sun enters Kanya rashi, monsoon prepares to withdraw from northern India.

ARDRA PRAVESH 2020
Ardra Pravesh 2020 is a Krishna Paksh chart. Kendras have only one benefic Venus in own earthy rashi, in Rohini nakshatra but this Venus is retrograde and doesn’t promise much rain. Retrograde Jupiter’s aspect on Venus is definitely a plus for rains. Venus in Pawan nadi in the Sapt-nadi chakra is again not very promising in the beginning of rainfall season.

Moon is placed in the airy rashi Mithun which has 0% water. It is conjunct with Sun, Rahu and Mercury, it is in the same nakshatra as Sun. If there are malefics in front of Sun, it is a cause of low or no rains. This year, Moon is in front of Sun and Mercury is in front, though it is retrograde.

Ardra Pravesh June 2020 - Journal of Astrology
Mercury and Venus together give rain but we can see that Sun placed between Mercury and Venus is stopping rain for now. Ardra nakshatra has Sun and Moon; Mercury is on the border and Rahu though close is in Mrigshira. As per Narad Purana, if Moon, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are in kendra in Ardra Pravesh, that can destroy the fear of any kind of locusts.

As per rules of astro-meteorology, Mars ahead of Sun stops rain.

“Aage Mangal peeche Bhan, varsha hove os samaan”

In this case, Mars is behind Sun but it is aspecting Sun and three other planets.

Mars in itself is dry but is placed in full watery rashi, aspected by retrograde Saturn. Aspect of a malefic on Mars can limit its contribution to rains. In Sapt-nadi chakra, Mars is in Neer nadi with Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury and that gives us hope that Mars shall contribute to a fair amount of rain with winds.

Kumbha rashi, an airy rashi is rising in Ardra Pravesh chart of this year. Kumbha is airy rashi with 50% water. In navamsha, Meena lagna rises which is full of water. East of India, Bengal, Bihar, parts of Madhya Pradesh shall have rain at the time of Ardra Pravesh.

Assam, Bhutan, Meghalaya etc. North East regions can have storms with rains. Meena rashi with Mars is getting aspected by retrograde Saturn. Retrograde Saturn is not conducive to rains and nor is Mars; but Mars in Meena rashi is going to ruffle this water filled rashi with lots of wind. Mercury and Venus both placed in Mesha in navamsha, aspected by Saturn again reiterates the same.

Northern areas Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Nepal, parts of U.P. will have some rains. Retrograde Venus is not good for rain but it is aspected by retrograde Jupiter. Retrograde Jupiter promotes rains. In Sapt-nadi chakra, Venus is retrograde in Pawan nadi whose lord Sun is not going to permit it to give much. We wait for Venus to get direct besides several other factors.

North West areas of Baluchistan, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Afghanistan etc. -- Rahu, Sun, Moon and Mercury(R) in Mithun rashi, aspected by Mars from watery rashi, indicates some rainfall; in navamsha, Mars in watery rashi, aspected by Jupiter and Moon allows the areas to have enough rainfall.

Karka rashi has the aspect of Saturn(R) and Jupiter(R) shows some rainfall. Where Saturn’s retrogression suppresses rainfall, retrogression of Jupiter encourages rainfall. Here the contrary influence on rain shall remain till one of them gets direct. Jupiter will get direct on 13 Sep 2020 and Saturn will be direct on 29 Sep 2020 when most of the rainy season would have passed.

Western region has Gujrat, Rajasthan, western parts of Madhya Pradesh, Sind, Multan etc. West has Simha rashi with 0% water so not much rain expected in this period.

South West areas have Kanya with 0% water and Tula with 25% water. Tula has aspect of Saturn and Mars so lots of wind and storms can be expected.

Krishna Paksh July 2020 - Journal of Astrology
Vrishchika rashi in the South of India aspected by Venus; Mars in watery rashi, so some rains expected in Tamil Nadu and parts of Andhra Pradesh.

South East areas with Orissa, parts of West Bengal, Andhra, East coast, these areas have Saturn, Jupiter and Ketu in Dhanu and Makar rashis. In navamsha, Moon and Jupiter placed in Makar shows good rains with winds.

Now, lagna of Ardra Pravesh chart is Kumbha, an airy rashi with 50 % water; lagna lord Saturn is placed in Neer nadi where Mercury and Jupiter are also placed and so is Mars; lord of nadi is Venus which is placed in Pawan nadi so we get a mixed picture; moderate rains and storms both are expected.

Krishna Paksh July 2020 Sapta Nadi - Journal of Astrology
Eclipse during monsoon is a negative factor. And there are three eclipses in a month, overlapping this monsoon season, three eclipses from 5th June to 5th July 2020. Rohini nakshatra bhedan is also a negative factor for monsoon but here we see Venus placed in own rashi in Rohini nakshatra.

Phenomena defines the temperature changes. Changes in motion of planets, change of nakshatras and rashis, setting and rising of planets play a major role in fluctuation of temperature.

Mars changed to Meena rashi on 18 June 2020 and there was tremendous rain in Delhi and NCR the very next day.

Solar eclipse on 21 June 2020 along Mithun Dhanu rashis is not conducive for monsoon season.

Surya Veedhi Aug 06 2020 - Journal of Astrology
Venus got into direct motion on 25 June 2020 and it is also aspected by retrograde Jupiter. But Sun placed between Venus and Mercury is a big hindrance for rain.

Also, a major planet changes rashi on 30 June 2020, Jupiter by retrogression shall fall in Dhanu.

Retrograde Jupiter is good for rain whereas direct Saturn is good for rain. Now when both the major planets are retrograde, one promoting rain and the other limiting it; it is a difficult situation. At this junction, Jupiter moving to other rashi is better; though both Jupiter and Saturn stay in the same nakshatra. Though we can see that Jupiter is moving from a water-filled rashi Makar to Dhanu which has only 50% water.

Surya Veedhi Aug 06 2020 Sapta Nadi - Journal of Astrology
On 1 July 2020, Mercury will get into inferior conjunction with Sun; Sun will be moving ahead from between Venus and Mercury, so that the path for rain shall be clear. We can see that still Rahu is there in between, so it is the windy showers.
We can check the planetary position of 5 July 2020 Purnima chart. Sun is 6 degrees ahead of Mercury. There is still Rahu between Venus and Mercury and Mercury is also aspected by Mars; at the same time, Mercury is also aspected by Jupiter and Moon. Venus and Mercury are close in degree.

In Sapt-nadi chakra (5 July 2020), Venus direct in Rohini i.e. Pawan nadi; Rahu and Ketu in Dahan Mars Rahu Ven Moon Mer Sun Lag Sat(R) Jup(R) Ketu 5 10 Lag Sat(R) 11 Moon 12 Mars 1 7 4 Mer Sun 2 3 Rahu Ven 6 8 9 Jup(R) Ketu 6 Aug 2020 18:00 Delhi nadi; Saturn and Jupiter both retrograde in Neer nadi; Mercury(R), Sun, Moon and Mars all in Soumya nadi, so this is the time for change in weather. Note that Sun shall move to Punarvasu by night. Rains have to arrive. North West and South East gets rain.

Retrograde Mercury rises on 10 July 2020, then gets direct 2 days hence, giving us fluctuations in weather. We have to remember that planets changing rashis or nakshatras, changing motion - retrograde/direct; changing states - rises/sets, all these bring about changes in weather a few days before or after inclusive. These especially hold for the planet Mercury.

Surya Veedhi Aug 16 2020 - Journal of Astrology
On Karka Surya veedhi on 16 July 2020, Moon and Venus are conjunct in Vrishabh, which is again an indication of rain. Moon conjunct with Venus or in angle/trine with Venus begets rain in those days. On 31 July 2020, Venus will change rashi to Mithun, a dry rashi and come close to Rahu. In a few days, on 6 Aug 2020, Venus will cross degree of Rahu and there will be no planet between Venus and Mercury which is good for rain; though Sun conjunct with Mercury and retrograde Saturn aspecting it is a limiting factor. By 8 Aug 2020, Venus will change nakshatra to Ardra in Soumya nadi. On 6 Aug 2020, we can see that there will be five planets in Soumya and Sajal nadis, Venus will be in Soumya nadi in another two days; Saturn(R) being the only deterring factor; so it is good time for the farmers. Rahu, Ketu and Sun all in Dahan nadi shall send a serious heat wave in some areas.

Surya Veedhi Aug 16 2020 Sapta Nadi - Journal of Astrology
Now, see the chart ten days later. On 16 Aug 2020, we see Venus, Moon and Mercury all concentrated in Mithun and Karka (watery rashi). Sun would change rashi and so would Mars, on that very day, major downpour and temperature fluctuations will be seen in those 2-3 days.

In Sanghatta rashi chakra, Venus in Mithun with Rahu is getting vedha from retrograde Saturn. Mercury in watery rashi is getting vedha from retrograde Jupiter and Ketu so will be more effective for rain.

Now, till when will the rains last is the question; Mercury will change rashi and move to Simha on 17 Aug 2020 and get into superior conjunction with Sun the same day. As Mercury moves forward, Sun is once again between Venus and Mercury acting as an obstruction to rain.

Lets see the next junction, it is worthwhile to see New Moon chart of 19 August 2020, when Mercury, Moon and Sun will be in Simha; all will be in Magha nakshatra in Amrit nadi giving indication of heavy rain. Mercury, Moon and Sun in Simha would be aspected by Jupiter from another fiery rashi Dhanu.

We keep watching and different combinations keep giving us varied weather phenomena. Astrometeorology is a branch of Mundane astrology which will never stop to amaze us.
