YEDIURAPPA SURVIVES ONCE AGAIN
Was the birth time given correct or did it need any correction is what I did not ask as on this basis I had given prediction about his political career without knowing any details about his family and other details which I normally check. R.Seetaramaiah of Karnataka, a retired police officer, and now a full time astrologer rang me up (3 PM) today (29 October 2010) to tell me that Yediurappa has survived again as the crucial judgment of the third judge of the Karnataka High Court has pronounced his verdict in his favor. His letter which has appeared on the website is reproduced here.

CORONAVIRUS - THE NEW KILLER

When we were discussing the effect of the eclipse of 2019, the focus was on disturbance due to wars; Iran-USA tension serious enough to grab the attention of the world, we are still hearing that it is the beginning of World War III. The tension is still not over, it is still simmering. At that time it never struck us that there could be an equally potent danger from some disease. We have again and again reiterated that Saturn and Ketu conjunctions are the cause of mass deaths due to wars and nuclear weapons, we have mentioned it for earthquakes also, overlooking that Saturn and Ketu can also be the infections which can spread due to Ketu representing ‘keetanu (insects)’, turn into pandemic and cause mass deaths. Ketu joining five other planets in the eclipse chart clearly shows danger from diseases particularly because Ketu has joined it.

Suddenly while the attention of the world was glued to Iran-US conflict, China stole the attention through news about Coronavirus. How it is so clearly indicated in the Chinese horoscope is being shown below. But, before that we need to understand what Coronavirus is, what damage it can do and how it can spread; this is being explained here by a lady doctor Dr. Geeta Kathuria, who is also a Jyotish Acharya (silver medallist) from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

Coronavirus is a common virus affecting nose, sinus and upper throat. This RNA virus has been responsible for small endemic and epidemic of common cold from time to time. But in 2003, this became responsible for SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) which was a pandemic and in 2014 again for MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). Hence this small virus has shown its tendency to cause pandemic in the past. Again Coronavirus is giving a threat of similar pandemic in January 2020, when WHO identified 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019 CoV).

Coronavirus actually is known for zoonotic diseases. Bats and birds are reservoirs for species that has pandemic causing potentials. Because these viruses are not circulating in humans before, the specific immunity for this remains weaker.

Mode of Spread: The disease can spread with direct contact with secretions and by droplet infections i.e. secretions through cough, sneeze etc. During  medical procedures it can form droplets and can bring medical staff at risk. And further they can be the source of infection. Lack of hygiene further fastens the spread of disease. Hence it is recommended to use masks and wash hands frequently. Travel should be avoided in acute cold like conditions and Quarantine can help in containment of disease.

Symptoms: The symptoms can be as trivial as running nose, headaches, cough, sore throat, fever and general feeling of being unwell to as severe as difficulty in breathing and pneumonia. It may go undiagnosed due to trivial unreported illness.

Treatment: Supportive treatment is the main stay of treatment. Antiviral have not shown much effect against the virus. Only severe cases are subjected to lab. investigations. Serum is tested for antibodies against viral antigens by ELISA or PCR. Secretion samples also can be tested.

Vaccine: No vaccine is available as yet to fight with the disease. It is necessary for astrologers to do research into various aspects of results of eclipses. The eclipse of 26 Dec 2019 with six planets in Dhanu, including Ketu which is always there in an eclipse, was a warning sign for coming events like this. Since Ketu joined here, role of an insect becomes evident and this insect turns out to be ‘corona’.

Journal of Astrology - Solar Eclipse China

Since Coronavirus originated from China, we will try to trace it from the Chinese horoscope. In the chart of China of 1 Oct 1949, Makar lagna is rising and the dasha running is MerMer-Ketu. Go back a little and in 2019 the dasha was Sat-Jup-Rahu. This disease could have originated and spread over a period of time, which is not known to anyone. Astrologically, we will trace it to that period of dasha chidra Sat-Jup-Rahu. Pratyantar dasha lord Rahu in watery rashi Meena and this disease supposedly comes from sea food.

Journal of Astrology - China horoscope
It is said that in China, in Wuhan, sea food is sold illegally. Chinese government has been prompt to ban live animal trade as a control measure. Illegal markets selling snakes are the suspected source of this virus. A new study published in the China Science Bulletin this week claimed that the new coronavirus shared a strain of virus found in bats. Experts have claimed that the coronavirus spreads from bats to snakes to humans.

When the disease was spreading, it was the dasha of Saturn in the 8H, the house of secrecy; Jupiter 12L aspecting Saturn in the 8H and Rahu placed in the 3H in watery rashi; so it is most likely that the disease spread from this dasha. Present dasha is of Mercury which is the retrograde 6L cum 9L of the chart conjunct with Ketu. It is in this dasha that the world has come to know about this disease and how it has spread. The disease was first reported to the WHO on 31 Dec 2019, though it must have started much before. We have no details of the number of deaths all over the world. All that we know is that people who traveled to China and contracted this disease have been suffering.

We have one case of an Indian male who was in Victim of coronavirus those areas in China in November 2019. After getting back to USA where he stayed, he developed severe breathing trouble and he died on 25 Jan 2020. It is significant that in the horoscope of this Indian, he was passing through the antardasha of Jupiter placed in the 8H in watery rashi aspected by Mars. He had the best of treatment available in USA but he could not survive. Who all can the virus affect and how, we do not know but we have to warn people about the danger of its spread astrologically. In all these diseases, we can not tell when they actually originated. Only when someone gets affected, we can say for sure and then take subsequent precautions.

More cases have been reported in India now. While no positive cases have been detected in India so far, over 100 people have been kept under observation in the states of Kerala and Maharashtra. Three suspected cases of coronavirus have been reported in Delhi itself. Thousands of Indians have had business contacts with China since ancient times. In recent times, students have also been going to China for studies. In Wuhan alone, which is the epicenter of coronavirus, there are more than 700 students. So India has been put at ‘High risk’.

The confidence of India that it will be able to tackle the situation has been expressed by Indian health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. We do not know yet whether India’s success in controlling Ebola disease earlier can be compared to the measures being taken now to control coronavirus. With so many alternative medicines in Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani etc. the treatment for this particular strand of virus has to be explored.

The external affairs minister S. Jaishankar reassures that embassy is in touch with the Chinese government, logistics are being worked out to evacuate its nationals from Wuhan, who are mostly students, who are more than 250 in number, who will be kept in a 14 day isolation after coming back as a means of precaution.

Confirmed cases have been reported in Australia, China, France, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Canada, South Korea, United States and Vietnam. The virus is spreading in the other countries also. In any case, people from all over the world particularly from South Asian countries, India, also USA will be in many lakhs, travelling to and fro from China. As for India, it always has to be careful when such a disease originates in a neighbouring country particularly China, as in China alone Indians living there will be in lakhs.

According to Global Times, 5 million have left the city of Wuhan.

Source:Global Times Published: 2020/1/27
Zhou Xianwang, the mayor of Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province, where the ongoing spread of coronavirus pneumonia began, said at a press conference on Sunday night that more than 5 million people have left the city because of the Spring Festival and the epidemic. The news came as quite a shock. Where have these 5 million people gone? How many of them are carriers of the new coronavirus? How many people will be infected because of them? These questions are disturbing. The outflow of 5 million people demonstrates the severity of the country's current situation concerning the disease's prevention and control.

China is confident of battling the virus, though in the current situation when it is becoming increasingly contagious, its deadlines and treatment rate require further study.

China New Year Festival holidays have been extended till February 2 to prevent reverse migration of millions of people. Universities, schools and kindergartens across China will postpone the opening of the new semester until further notice.

It is remarkable how in a record time, China is making two hospitals in Wuhan, which will be ready by 2  Feb and 5 Feb 2020, for accommodating 2,300 more patients. This shall help in the treatment and seclusion of coronavirus cases.

As of today (30 Jan 2020), there are more than 7,711 confirmed infection cases, 170 deaths reported, surpassing that of Sars in 2003. What is alarming is that, even people without symptoms can test positive for the virus.

The rapid increase in reported cases does not necessarily mean that the crisis is getting worse, but could reflect better monitoring and reporting of the virus.

Those killed by the virus have mostly been middle aged and elderly people sometimes suffering from other conditions that weaken their ability to fight back. It is not clear how lethal the new Coronavirus is or even whether it is as dangerous as the ordinary flu which kills thousands of people every year in the USA alone.

Inspite of the above reassurance, we should not ignore that the World Health Organisation declared the outbreak an emergency for China, though it stopped short of calling it a global emergency.

The eclipse has had its effect in many ways. Six planets joining in Dhanu along with Ketu has intensified the anti CAA agitation in India, creating poisonous atmosphere in India through distorted version of the act.

In the instant case of China, it has led to the spread of coronavirus which is reminding us of SARS. We do not know when it will be more serious or whether it will be controlled. SARS first spread to China and then spread to several other countries. It was brought under some control in July 2003. According to ‘The Sun’, death toll of SARS was 774 and 8098 people were infected; which is nothing as compared to the rapid rise in coronavirus cases.

Some doubts
So many questions are there in our minds. All seafood, even snakes, crabs and various insects have been consumed for thousands of years, but why the outburst of a disease now! Around the year 1980, every summer in Delhi a new disease used to spring up. When it was realized that it was a mischief by other countries, a strict control was exercised.

Is this disease now a part of the biological warfare weapon of USA or USSR or China! This is being checked, all we can do is wait and watch!

Washington Post reports:
Suspicions about a link to a biological warfare leak in Wuhan have been raised because the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory handles deadly viruses and its civilian and military research are intertwined in China.

The Washington Times reported Friday that a former Israeli military intelligence analyst on the Chinese biological arms program said it is possible the disease escaped from one of two Chinese research facilities that are linked to China’s covert biological weapons program.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology National Biosafety Laboratory is China’s sole declared facility capable of conducting research on deadly viruses, including severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). China declared a second laboratory, the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, as part of biological warfare research under the Biological Weapons Convention.

The State Department said in a report last year that it suspects China is working covertly on offensive biological weapons in violation of the convention.

A group of 29 Chinese researchers, writing in the British medical journal The Lancet, said the first person to become ill from the Wuhan virus was identified on Dec. 1 and had no link to the animal market. The magazine Science reported the findings of the study on Sunday.

The deadly new coronavirus has killed more than 100 people - with the number of infections almost doubling in a day to more than 4,500. A growing number of countries around the world have reported cases as governments scramble to control the spread. Experts in China said tests proved humans first caught the bug from animals sold at a seafood market in Wuhan. Scientists are concerned because it is closely related to other diseases including SARS, which killed nearly 800 people between 2002 and 2003. But how does the new illness, dubbed 2019-nCoV, compare? The new strain of coronavirus, 2019-nCoV, causes symptoms that may start as a cold and eventually end up developing into pneumonia Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause infections ranging from the common cold to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The new virus has a wide range of symptoms, including fever, coughing, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. Severe cases can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and death. Experts are still working to understand more about the new form, which emerged at the end of December, but believe that it jumped from animals to humans.

Like the viruses that cause SARS and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), the new one is an RNA virus - with RNA as its genetic material, rather than DNA. That means the virus blends with its host’s DNA, and can mutate rapidly. The killer coronavirus was spread from bats to snakes to humans, experts have claimed. An outbreak of the virus is understood to have started at an open air fish market in the Chinese city of Wuhan - which has since been put in lockdown after 25 people died and more than 600 people were infected globally.

A new study published in the China Science Bulletin this week claimed that the new coronavirus shared a strain of virus found in bats. Previous deadly outbreaks of SARS and Ebola were also believed to have originated in the flying mammal. Experts had thought the new virus wasn't capable of causing an epidemic as serious as those outbreaks because its genes were different. But this latest research appeared to prove otherwise - as scientists scrabble to produce a vaccine. In a statement, the researchers said: “The Wuhan coronavirus’ natural host could be bats … but between bats and humans there may be an unknown intermediate." Meanwhile, scientists at Peking University also claim that the deadly virus was passed to humans from bats - but say it was through a mutation in snakes. The researchers said that the new strain is made up of a combination of one that affects bats and another unknown coronavirus. They believe that combined genetic material from both bats and this unknown strain picked up a protein that allows viruses to bind to certain host cells - including those of humans.

After analysing the genes of the strains the team found that snakes were susceptible to the most similar version of the coronavirus. It meant that they likely provided a "reservoir" for the viral strain to grow stronger and replicate. Snakes are sold at the Huanan Seafood Market in central Wuhan and the strain may have jumped to other animals before passing to humans, they claim. But a senior researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, who asked not to be named, said the findings should be treated with caution.

He told the South China Morning Post:
“It is based on calculation by a computer model. “Whether it will match what happens in real life is inconclusive. “The binding protein is important, but it is just one of the many things under investigation. There may be other proteins involved.” The expert believes that the new strain was an RNA virus, meaning that its mutation speed was 100 times faster than that of a DNA virus such as smallpox. It can be transmitted from person to person through coughing and sneezing, which increases the risk of it being passed on. Chinese health authorities also said it can spread before symptoms show up and its incubation period can range from one to 14 days. So far, the new coronavirus doesn't seem to spread as easily among people as SARS or influenza. Most of the cases so far that spread between people were of family members and health workers who had contact with patients. That suggests the new virus isn't well adapted to infect people.

The World Health Organisation called the outbreak an emergency for China, but stopped short of designating it a global emergency. Cases have been reported in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Thailand and the United States, as well as Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam. So far, no deaths have been reported outside China.

Death toll: 106 Infections: 4,500 SARS Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) first appeared during a pandemic in China in 2002. Like the current outbreak, it's caused by a coronavirus and displayed similar flu-like symptoms such as a fever, cough and breathing difficulties. It can also result in a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening form of pneumonia. SARS is an airborne virus which is spread in small droplets of saliva coughed or sneezed into the air by an infected person. It can also be spread indirectly via surfaces and even through poo if an infected person doesn't wash their hands properly. Evidence from the SARS pandemic of 2002 to 2003 showed people living with or caring for someone with a known SARS infection were most at risk of developing the infection themselves. It's thought that a strain of the coronavirus usually only found in small mammals mutated, enabling it to infect humans.

The SARS infection quickly spread from China to other Asian countries and there were also a small number of cases in several other countries, including four in the UK. It was eventually brought under control in July 2003, when people suspected of having the condition were isolated and passengers travelling by air were screened. In 2004 there was another smaller SARS outbreak linked to a medical laboratory in China. It was thought to have been the result of someone coming into direct contact with a sample of the SARS virus, rather than being caused by animalto-human or human-to-human transmission. There's currently no cure for SARS, but research to find a vaccine is ongoing.

Death toll: 774 Infections: 8,098 Spanish flu
The 1918 Spanish flu pandemic was the deadliest outbreak of the virus in history killing the most people in the shortest timeframe. It was first observed in Europe, the US and parts of Asia before it quickly spread throughout the world. The spread was aided by modern ships and a world war that required moving huge armies quickly across the globe. It was wrongly named the Spanish flu because it was first reported by a newspaper in Madrid, but it's now believed to have started in Kansas, US. The virus caused typical flu symptoms, including fever, nausea, aches and diarrhoea but many developed severe pneumonia, which ultimately became fatal. Dark spots would appear on the cheeks and patients would turn blue, suffocating from a lack of oxygen as lungs filled with a frothy, bloody substance, NPR reports. Research reconstructing the virus suggested it began in birds, then rapidly mutated, leaping to humans. Unlike the typical flu, where the highest mortality is in infants and the elderly, the 1918 flu also struck down young, healthy adults. The military, with its overcrowded camps and troops ships, took a particularly bad hit.

In 2014, scientists revealed that they had solved the mystery of how the Spanish flu started and why it became so deadly. A study by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences found that people born after 1889 had not been exposed to the kind of virus which devastated the world in 1918. This explains why the deadly pandemic largely targeted young adults while older patients, who had built up some immunity, would often make a full recovery. Also a sudden movement of avian flu genes at the time– causing a change in the kind of haemagglutinin in an already existent flu strain – likely led to the pandemic. Haemagglutinin is a kind of protein which binds the virus to cells. There was also no vaccine for the strain in 1918. Experts say that most people living today would have some immunity to viruses in the 1918 virus' family, called H1N1, while modern antiviral drugs may also be effective.

Death toll: 20-50 million (estimate) Infections: 500 million (estimate) Ebola
Ebola virus disease is a serious viral infection that originated in sub-Saharan Africa. It was first detected in 1976 in an outbreak near the Ebola River in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. The virus is thought to have originated in fruit bats, which are considered a delicacy in the area where the outbreak started. A person infected with Ebola will typically develop a high temperature, a headache, joint and muscle pain, a sore throat and severe muscle weakness. Symptoms start suddenly - between two and 21 days after becoming infected.

Diarrhea, being sick, a rash, stomach pain and reduced kidney and liver function can follow. The infection may then cause internal bleeding as well as bleeding from the ears, eyes, nose or mouth. Unlike the new coronavirus, Ebola is not an airborne disease, and as such it is impossible for a person to become infected by inhaling the same air as a patient. People can become infected through direct contact with bodily fluids of someone with the virus. Those at highest risk are typically healthcare workers, family members of those infected and other people who come into close contact with an infected person.

Sexual transmission can occur, from men to women or men, after a person's symptoms have disappeared and they are declared free from the disease. No one has caught Ebola from someone else in the UK. There is no proven cure for the virus but in December 2016, it was reported that a new and effective vaccine had been developed.

The 2014–2016 outbreak in West Africa was the largest Ebola outbreak since the virus was first discovered in 1976 and ended with more than 28,600 cases and 11,325 deaths. It started in Guinea and then moved across land borders to Sierra Leone and Liberia. The current 2018-2019 outbreak in eastern DRC is highly complex, with insecurity adversely affecting public health response activities. Death toll (2014-2016): 11,325 Cases (2014-2016): 28,600
