ISLAM IN AFGHANISTAN (Part IV)
Well, the caste system was duly prevalent in India. In the times of Ashoka the Great, after the massive war and numerous deaths in Kalinga; Ashoka, full of remorse took comfort in the religion of non-violence viz. Buddhism. Buddhism spread far and wide in the Indian subcontinent (as discussed in third part in our series of articles on Afghanistan). But, if the whole society becomes Buddhist, where are the fighters to defend the nation? Afghanistan and Sind, two Frontier provinces of India, all turned Buddhist, with no Kshatriyas to fight and protect the nation. With Afghanistan and Sind, depleted of fighters, there was no one to save the nation against the invasion by invaders. read more...read more...
AFGHANISTAN'S HISTORY OF INVASIONS (V)
How is it that Afghanistan invaded India so many times and Afghanistan was not attacked as many times. When theft is committed, it is committed in the rich man's house. India has always been known to be a very rich country whereas it was not the case with Afghanistan. When Afghanistan is not a rich country, where is the question to invade it? read more...read more...

FEDERER FLOPS AGAIN: AND THE ENIGMA

In the sunset years of his career, Federer won the Wimbledon title in 2012. Some lovers of tennis asked me if I had overlooked astrologically, the resurgence of his career and revival of his era we had known between 2005 and 2008. As quoted in the text of this article, I had not overlooked it at all. I had called it only as a DAZZLE, not a resurgence or revival in the antardasha of Venus. Like a Rahu eclipsing his hopes came Berdych. A dazed Federer did not know what was happening.

Some lovers of tennis asked me through emails how is it that after my prediction about the decline of Federer since 2009, Federer has suddenly become world number one still. The simple answer is that he played better than Nadal who remained injured, Djokovic and Murray and got into this place but it in no way negates my prediction about his decline as will have been clear to anyone who watched the finals between him and Murray in London Olympics 2012 and the US quarter final between him and Berdych. Was it world one number player playing? Was it the Federer of 2005/2006.2007 and 2008?

I had written:
FEDERER THE GREAT AND HIS ERA    KN RAO
13 June 2009, 5:05 AM
When in the prime of your career depending on what you do, if a dasha ends and another begins, one should be prepared to see a change, the end of a career possibly, if one is at one’s height, after one or two antardashas in the new dasha end. In the case of Jawaharlal Nehru his Rahu dasha gave him three humiliating antardashas and saw the end of his career.

Look at the career of Federer. In the dasha of Saturn he won his grand slams in so dominant a way that he seemed to have no challengers who could topple him from his topmost position though they could win one of two titles against him. Till 2009 the French title was eluding him.
In 2003 he won one grand slam.
In 2004 three grand slams.
In 2005 two grand slams
In 2006 three grand slams
In 2007 three again
It brought the total to twelve and the Saturn dasha was ending.

I wrote about the end of his era as in Mercury dasha, even if he won two or four titles, as was not unlikely, his dominance could not have been like the last part of Saturn dasha.

In 2008, he played so badly that he won the US title with lot of difficulty when his nemesis Rafael Nadal lost to Andre Murray whom Federer defeated in a lack luster final to clinch his thirteenth title.

In 2009, history repeated itself when Nadal lost what was supposed to be his monopoly, the French title, and Soderling the conqueror of Nadal reached the final and lost to Roger Federer again in a lack luster final.

It gave to him his fourteenth title and he equaled the record of Pete Sampras who called him the greatest tennis player of all time. The only challenge Federer had on his way to the final was from Del Potro of Argentina who is going to challenging the top players of world tennis in coming tournaments.

Federer winning this title is explainable through astrology. From 31 May 2009 the chara dasha was of Dhanu Makar Karka from where the Amatyakarak Venus aspects the tenth house. In transit Saturn on his tenth lord Venus in the lagna and Jupiter aspecting his tenth lord from Kumbha is a favorable double transit helping him achieve a title from a weak opponent.

This favorable period continues during the coming Wimbledon contest. The light that has to burn with dazzling effulgence will cause a daze and the greatest tennis player of all era in the toughest era of keenest competition, unlike in the period of Rod Laver or Pete Sampras will retire or fade out after one or two antardashas of Mercury. His era has ended but his dazzle has not.

************************************

Remember I had clearly said ‘HIS ERAHAD ENDED BUT HIS DAZZLE HAS NOT”. The reason for my saying is that the antardasha of Venus was still coming and Federer would not have retired in January 2011 when Venus antardasha was starting. That would not change my prediction that his decline is steep now, his dazzle will still be there, his artistry and now brilliant net play, volleying, which he was not doing in his younger days, becoming a novel feature of his desire to finish rallies early and not depend solely on playing from back court, becoming prominent .

I was not seeing his horoscope and he had entered the antardasha of Venus which, even at this age had to show him some favor as Sunil Dutt had seen and had predicted brilliantly about his victory at Wimbledon in 2012 in an email to me which I preserved and am using now.

In Char Dasha he is under Capricorn-Cancer-Libra, from 28th June to 8th July[ till 10-22 a.m] . Moon [Ak] is in Libra aspected by Amk [Venus] from Leo. Moon is also making another Rajyoga with 5L Jupiter, since Moon and Jupiter are in Nakshatra exchange. Also Moon - Venus combination itself is a Jaimini Rajyoga.  So I feel he will show his artistry of Tennis in today's match against world number one.

Sir, Pranam
After rereading all your articles on Federer I got the reason why he won to reach the semifinal of Wimbledon 2012. He is under Mercury-Venus-Rahu-Jupiter-Jupiter from 3rd July 2012, Saturn [7L, 6L] and Jupiter [5L] is closely conjunct in the 2H aspected by Yogkarak Mars [4L, 9L]. Two Rajyogas are in operation and moreover Moon is in the Nakshatra of Jupiter and Jupiter [5L] is in the Nakshatra of Moon [12L]. And Moon is in the 3H of D-1 and in the 10H of D-9. In transit Saturn is on the natal Jupiter and Saturn and Jupiter is in the 10H, aspecting the Saturn. Also the 10L [Venus] and 5L [Jupiter] is transiting on the 10H of Federer. His time is very good till 9th July [15-28, I.S.T] because he will be under Mercury-Venus-Rahu-Jupiter-Saturn. I feel due to this he should do very well in semi -final match against world no. one.

=====================================

Yes, he won the Wimbledon and then ended the story of the year 2012 on the night of 5 September when Berdych toyed with him in US Open 2012 in the quarter finals as though he was not even now a reigning world number one but an unseeded player lucky enough to advance so far as the quarter final.

Federer had not dropped a single set till now and now in quarter he could win only one set!!

It was lack luster, totally one sided match with the score reading 7-6 (Federer losing in tie break) 6-4 Berdych playing him with so much ease in this set. Then Federer wins the third set 6-3 and finally Berdych again toying with him in the fourth and what turned out to be final set of the match 6-3. Was it the Federer of 2007?

Now look at the story of Federer’s decline.

His grand slam wins have been:
Grand Slam Singles results Australian Open W (2004, 2006, 2007, 2010)
French Open W (2009)
Wimbledon W (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012)
US Open W (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008) to-tallying  seventeen as against fourteen of Pete Sampras.

Now analyze it , after my prediction of 2008 December how he declined.

In 2003 Wimbledon  ONE
In 2004 won Australian, Wimbledon, US  THREE
In 2005 Wimbledon, US TWO
In 2006 Australian, Wimbledon, US  THREE
In 2007 Australian, Wimbledon, US THREE
In 2008 US ONE

TWELVE TITLES BETWEEN 2004
AND 2008 when I wrote about his decline
In 2009 French, Wimbledon TWO without facing Nadal
In 2010 Australian ONE without facing Nadal
In 2011 NONE
In 2012 Wimbledon ONE without facing Nadal
Won only FOUR grand slams in four years.
Silver Medal in London Olympics 2012

LET ME REPEAT FOUR GRANDSLAMS IN FOUR YEARS AFTER I WROTE MY ARTICLE. Compare it with his achievements between 2004 and 2008.

Why I am repeating without facing Nadal is that Federer’s nemesis has been Nadal and that puts a question mark, in spite of his seventeen grand slams, of his being the greatest tennis player according to an Australian critic. Nadal leads Federer 18/10 head to head.

In the era of Rod Laver there was no player who became his nemesis and his dominance was absolute and unquestioned: in the era of Pete Sampras he too was absolutely dominant with no player becoming his nemesis. Federer in spite of more grand slams than any other player won his grand slams without facing Nadal since 2009 as Nadal has suffered more injuries than any other top tennis player known to tennis history. In that sense Federer was lucky that he could break the record of Pete Sampras.

Remember, In his youth (youth for tennis) he won thirteen grand slams in six years.
In the declining years he won four only in four years without facing Nadal. It helped him break the record of Pete Sampras.

Federer suffered today (6 September 2012 shock defeat in quarter finals in US Open 2012. “It was Federer’s worst defeat at the tournament since losing to David Nalbandian in the fourth round in 2003.” says Brisbane Times.

“Roger Federer was knocked out of the US Open before the semi-finals for the first time since 2003 by Tomas Berdych.” says Manchester Guardian.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Roger Federer was knocked out of the U.S. Open on Wednesday after losing a quarter-final thriller to Tomas Berdych, marking the world number one's earliest exit from Flushing Meadows in nine years.”

In competitive tennis, the age of thirty is the beginning of old age: in cricket, it is thirty eight if you are a batsman or a spinner. Federer and his friend, India’s Tendulkar are famous old men of world sports. In a team game like cricket even Gavaskar questioned the ability of Tendulkar to synchronize his footwork with movement of the bat. In tennis, no one will ask Federer--when are you retiring. Venus the antardasha lord in his horoscope says “you can take a decision in April 2014 and till then there will be a chance or two to dazzle still.”

But on every era sun sets.
