Dear Mr Rao I read your article on Amitabh Bachchan denying reports of astrological remedies, etc. The man is a liar. If you look at his hands, his wife's hands and son's hands, they're studded with rings. Amitabh himself wears a huge blue saphire. Not for show, certainly. I've heard from a source that he goes to a tantrik in Benares. Where his bahu is concerned, her community, the Bunts, worship Bhootnath - Shiva as lord of the netherworld - and do all that goes with such worship.

It states that Harvanshrai's grandfather was so poor that he went to a saint of the Ramanand sect in Allahabad for blessings. The saint gave him three vessels and said that so long as his descendents had these, they would never lack. The turn in fortune began after that. I assume this branch of the family still has one of the vessels. Incidentally, I have it from someone who knows the Gandhis well that the split with the Bachchans was because ......
