ISLAM IN AFGHANISTAN (Part IV)
Well, the caste system was duly prevalent in India. In the times of Ashoka the Great, after the massive war and numerous deaths in Kalinga; Ashoka, full of remorse took comfort in the religion of non-violence viz. Buddhism. Buddhism spread far and wide in the Indian subcontinent (as discussed in third part in our series of articles on Afghanistan). But, if the whole society becomes Buddhist, where are the fighters to defend the nation? Afghanistan and Sind, two Frontier provinces of India, all turned Buddhist, with no Kshatriyas to fight and protect the nation. With Afghanistan and Sind, depleted of fighters, there was no one to save the nation against the invasion by invaders. read more...read more...

WHOSE HEART IS IT ANYWAY?

Whether it is emotional or physical the heart remains central to the human condition. It is a life force. It seems to drive the human machine, rather than the other way round. We can feel it surge on every strong emotion. It reacts to pleasure and pain.

Medical science has explored it in depth. Heart replacements have been successful. However, with corruption and commercialization there is not enough trust in medical practitioners and their diagnosis. People are going back to holistic cures and alternative therapies. They desperately look for guidance when thrown into health dilemmas.

Astrology has the answers and can guide the heart owners to arrive at a decision. But only a genuine and knowledgeable astrologer can help. Most astrologers have little or no research to their credit, therefore their advice could be damaging, even heart breaking.

Our Project

How does one predict the status of the heart and give suggestions for its management? This is the research we have undertaken.

Since any, off the cuff prediction or tentative assessment of ailments can cause more harm than good, it is necessary that we come out with precise results from comprehensive research. For achieving this, the research has to be scientific and data-driven. There has to be replicability of all the parameters that we retain to make medical assessments as a small error can be quite damaging. Realizing the sensitivity of our task, we have decided that till the time we reach a level of safety in assessments, we shall not unleash predictions.

So far, astrologers have been successful in predicting the onset of a disease, its duration and the time that could bring relief. But we need to be more specific with respect to the heart ailments, we have narrowed down to the 4th and the 5th house of a horoscope.

In view of this, the first target for our project is to establish scientifically the location of the house or houses for assessing heart ailments :- Whether the 4th house or the 5th house or both the 4th and the 5th houses are involved.

The second in priority, is to establish whether the Sun as the significator of heart is consistent so far as indications about the heart are concerned or there are other planets like Moon that governs blood and Mars blood vessels which deserve to be studied also for determining heart ailments. The trigger of a heart ailment could be in any part of the body but the heart undisputedly is in the vicinity of the 4th house and affects the adjoining region-3rd house and the 5th house, the most.

Considering this, we decided to move from the known to the unknown. A backward integration. The known is a set of authenticated horoscopes with all events established including the ones related to heart like time of detection of an ailment, an attack or a surgery and their relation with the dashas houses and planets. The movement towards the unknown involves the hunt for replicability. When done collectively, in a research group the astrological reasons that cause these events come out more convincingly.

We are not in a hurry to present a conclusive research. It will take time. We have vital observations and important leads but would like to view them as simple observations till the replicability is established on a larger number of horoscopes. We are in the process eliminating a few parameters and retaining some. We will get to the heart of the matter.

A few cases that we have explored

NT RAMA RAO Date of Birth: 28th May, 1923 ; Time of

Birth: 16:43 ; Place of Birth: Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh.

With Libra Lagna rising and Jupiter and Moon forming a Gajkesari yoga in the Ascendant, the personality had to be charismatic. Additionally, Venus, the Lagna lord aspects this power giving combination in the Lagna. Moon Venus opposition on the 1/7 axis reveals his tryst with women.

The closeness of Ascendant, Moon, Jupiter and Venus in close degrees shows the intense influence of these planets on personality and public life as Moon is the 10th lord also.

He had his heart transplant done in July 1984 in the dasha of Venus-Venus-Sun. Venus becomes an effective Maraka as it is in the 7th from both the Lagna and the Moon and is also the 8th lord. The 4th and the 5th lord Saturn has gone to the 12th house. Mars, as a potent maraka, aspects the 4th house and the fourth lord.

In the navamsha the 4th lord Mercury is in Rahu-Ketu axis and is aspected by Mars. The dreshkona has Saturn the 12th lord in the fourth house which is in paapkartari as Mars is on one side and Rahu on the other. In dwadashamsha Sun as the 4th lord is debilitated and afflicted in the 6th house. Throughout July Mars was in Libra aspecting the 4th, 7th and the 8th house and was conjunct with the 4th lord Saturn. In Chara dasha it was Cancer-Aquarius. From Aquarius the Atmakaraka is in the 8th house and the Gyatikaraka in the 4th. The Gyatikaraka aspects Cancer.

Lal Bahadur Shastri

This horoscope is authentic. It convincingly unfolds the life events of our former prime minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri. After the declaration of the ceasefire, Shastri and Pakistani President Muhammad Ayub Khan attended a summit in Tashkent (former USSR, now in modern Uzbekistan ), organized by Alexie Kosygin. On 10th January, 1966 Shastri and Khan signed the Tashkent declaration. The next day Shastri, who had suffered two heart attacks earlier, died supposedly of a heart attack at 1:32 a.m. He is the only Indian Prime Minister to have died in office overseas.

It was the Vimshottari dasha of Mercury-Mercury-Moon. Mercury is the maraka 7th lord and Moon is the 8th lord. Both aspect the 4th house from the 10th indicating the place of work. The 4th house is aspected by Mars the 12th lord which is conjunct with Rahu. It is also aspected by Saturn another maraka from the 2nd house.

In Chara dasha Taurus-Aries-Saggitarius

Clearly ,in totality it the 4th house which is found under affliction from several angles when this event of the heart occurred.

Arjun Singh

05th November, 1930 19:54, Reva

Heart attack in October, 1990, Date of death 4 March, 2011

Late Shri Arjun Singh had the heart event in the Vimshottari Dasha of Rahu-Sun-Sat. Rahu is with Moon the 2nd lord, a Maraka, Sun the 3rd lord is conjunt with Mercury the lagna and the 4th lord in Rahu-Ketu axis. The aspect of Mars is also on Sun, Mercury and Ketu. Saturn, the Pratayantra Dasha lord is a Maraka as it is in 7th house. It aspects the lagna and the 4th house. In the Navamasha Rahu is in the 7th house, Sun is in the 6th house and Saturn is in the 11th house. Under the Jaimani scheme the Dasha in October 1990 was of Virgo-Cancer-Virgo, Virgo is the

4th rashi and Cancer has the Gk, Mars. In the transit chart

Mars is in the 12 house aspecting Saturn which is in the

7th and from there it aspects the 4th house.

4) Bill Clinton - Quadruple bypass surgery. 11 February, 2010 - Cardiac Stenting.

On September 20th 2004, Vimshottari Dasha was Sat-Sat-Ven. Venus is the Maraka 2nd lord and is conjunct with the 8th lord Mars. Saturn, the 6th lord aspects the lagna from the 11th house. In the Navamsha, Saturn is in the 9th house and Venus is in the 6th. Sun and Mars are in the 4th house. In transit Mars was aspecting the 4th house and the 4th lord from the Lagna and Saturn conjunct with Venus aspected the lagna.

Clearly the 4th house is more emphasized in all the cases at the time when the heart events took place. What we have done is a mini micro level research. What we require is a research at the macro level in view of the sensitivity of the heart. It is wrong to standardize the houses or planet for heart ailments like done by some who say it is Leo or Sun or the 5th house or the 4th house.
