Why do things that seduce the senses often harm us deep down -tasty food upsets the body and sensory indulgences, the mind and soul. Think. Why, driven by the glamour of scintillating ads, we keep hoarding the unwanted and shelve the useful. In the sunset years of his career, Federer won the Wimbledon title in 2012. Some lovers of tennis asked me if I had overlooked astrologically, the resurgence of his career and revival of his era we had known between 2005 and 2008. As quoted in the text of this article, I had not overlooked it at all. I had called it only as a DAZZLE, not a resurgence or revival in the antardasha of Venus. Like a Rahu eclipsing his hopes came Berdych. A dazed Federer did not know what was happening. Some lovers of tennis asked me through emails how is it that after my prediction about the decline of Federer since 2009, Federer has suddenly become world number one still. The simple answer is that he played better than Nadal who remained injured, Djokovic and Murray and got into this place but it in no way negates my prediction about his decline as will have been clear to anyone who watched the finals between him and Murray in London Olympics 2012 and the US quarter final between him and Berdych.

Last Sunday, a brilliant student of my junior research class told me that he wanted to give his political (mundane) explanation astrologically showing why the terrorist attack took place and why it had to be in south west direction which ofcourse is Bombay.
On this basis, he further showed why the next attack, since this attack is not likely to stop now that India world’s softest target with a huge population sympathetic to the terrorists and with some of them willing to be members of sleeper cells,----will be in NORTHERN INDIA.
The day Indo Nuclear deal was signed, Sardar Manmohan Singh signalled India joining the American bloc was the message sent to the Muslim world, particularly the fundamentalists among them.
In the meantime, the Bharatiya Janata Party has earned the wrath of some Indians who do not like any political party to make political capital out of such incidents, so painfully exposing our national deficiencies and defects in characters. Some of them are reminding the BJP that its own record during the Kandhahar kidnapping was disgraceful.
What most of the politicians do not know , it seems, is that younger generation of Indians, in early thirties and, even younger ones, are intelligently patriotic. The voting power and strength is in their hands and they can cause major swings in elections. It will serve no purpose if the middle aged people blame politicians as we are a democracy and we have to elect politicians, however opportunistic and unscrupulous, to power. What is the way out?
The coming dasha of Sun in the Indian horoscope provides an adequate answer. Domestic policies will demand and get greater attention, economically tariff barriers, resembling protectionism of British Indian days, and adequate security measures with stringent laws.At the moment, stringent security laws have been sacrificed at the altar of political opportunism by the UPA government which repealed the excellent POTA which the earlier, NDA, government and had framed, enforced and provoked terrorists. But the Congress politicians who thought it was used against one community repealed it instead of instructing the law enforcing authorities to be impartial if there was any truth in the allegations against NDA’s POTA.
National security first has to be the aim of any government.What will the new Home Minister, Chidambaram do now unless he brings into effect some POTA like legal act immediately into force?
In the encircling tension and gloom, a BJP leader has provided some hilarity and provoked women against himself.

NO HOLDING HIS TONGUE: Naqvi gets into trouble for deriding Mumbai protesters. That’s what BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said. "Some women wearing lipstick and powder have taken to streets in Mumbai and are abusing politicians spreading dissatisfaction against democracy. This is what terrorists are doing in Jammu and Kashmir," said Naqvi, the party’s national vice-president.
The lighter side was that the English cricket team down five zero to India in ODIs was waiting for a total disgrace if it was to lose the remaining two to make it seven zero. We were debating if Pieterson’ team would take this opportunity and run away. Yes, they did it.
