TRAILANGA SWAMI - II
In 1810, Raja of Ujjain paid a visit to Kashi. He along with Kashi Naresh, was on a boat going towards Manikarnika ghat when he saw the shining figure of Swami sitting on water. On inquiry, he was told about the extra ordinary powers of the saint. The King was very impressed and as if sensing his wish to see him, Swami appeared on the boat. The King was glad and showed his extra ordinary bejeweled sword to him. The saint did not even think for a moment and threw the sword in water. When the King got in a fit of rage and grief, Swami put his hand in water and extracted two similar swords from the water. He asked the King to recognize his sword, which he obviously could not do. Swami told him sternly that he was troubled for the sword when he could not even recognize which one was his sword. That was his way to show him the futility of the physical attractions of the world. read more...read more...
JALLIANWALA BAGH MASSACRE
One year more than a century has passed, still no one has forgotten the brutality with which the atrocious killing at Jallianwala Bagh was carried out. Jallianwala Bagh is located at a distance of barely one and a half kilometers from the Golden Temple in Amritsar. On 13 Apr 1919, on the day of Baisakhi (an important Hindu festival) at 5:37 in the evening, when more than 10,000 people (some say there were 15,000 to 20,000) were gathered in the Jallianwala Bagh, acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered to shoot at the unarmed, innocent public.

A CASE STUDY IN REMEDIAL MEASURES

(The author is a very experienced astrologer with her own researches in problems related to marriage and children. She is on our panel of astrologers- Editor)

Persons already will settled in professions face some problems which can upset their career suddenly. If it happens to a doctor it is a case of a curer (healer) needing a cure.

No one can hope to escape the effects of the planetary configurations in his horoscope. One should not be surprised if in such cases in India people rush suddenly to an astrologer to seek a situation to a problem which baffles them. The whole family gets upset and a young or middle-aged housewife with young children sees it all as a story of unending story of agony.

The Horoscope
See for instance the horoscope of a heart surgeon who has been earning fabulously after setting up a private practice.

In this horoscope there is an excellent Gajakesari Yoga along the fourth and tenth house axis. The dasha sequence has also been good as he got Venus Dasha from 1994 and made a career quickly. Venus is also involved in Gaja Kesari Yoga.

Then the dasha of Sun came in 1994. The Sun is with Mars in Navamsha in the XII house.

As soon an Rahu Antardasha came in the mahadasha of Sun on 5th Feb. 1996, he started some eye trouble of which he was not aware. When Saturn Antardasha came in October 1997 he developed serious eye trouble. Here Saturn in the XII house gives clear indication of trouble to the eye in Sun-Saturn. Here the 10th lord Mercury is also involved and afflicted. It almost threatened his lucrative private practice.

Was there any hope? Jupiter in the X involved in the Gajakesari Yoga promises to offer protection.

Navamsa
Mercury, the Xth lord is aspected by three planets in the Navamsha, Jupiter, Moon and Saturn. There was every hope of good recovery to help him practice. A surgeon cannot and should not have a weak eye-sight.

A famous doctor of Delhi refused to comment on the possibilities of full recovery. Some doctors even thought that it would become an impassable impediment in the career of the surgeon.

Parashara has prescribed Mantras as astrological remedies. A relation of the surgeon went to an astrologer who believes only on remedial measures through mantra to be done by the person himself or his wife.

In this case, the wife came and she was made to recite a mantra of Soorya (Sun) since it was Sun's Mahadasha. She was also advised to combine it with Vishnu Sahastranamavali since it was Mercury's antardasha.

A week after these remedial measures were resorted to, the doctors who earlier insisted upon surgical operation changed their minds and said they could try some medicines. On 16th November 1998 the surgeon has been able to resume his practice.

The notable points in their case are:-
It is the dasha of the IX lord the punya of this birth. Worship done during this period is very rewarding. It must be noticed here that Saturn, known as a hard task master, has been causing sadhe sati . It has also been aspecting the Sun, the Mahadasha lord. It is a well known principle in Astrology that when the Dasha lord are under affliction in transit, extra care needs to be taken.

What can be better than deep devotion?
When anyone prays sincerely God gives right inspiration to doctors to take a right decision. It has been well said in the Mahabharata that gods do not protect anyone with batons. They help by bestowing on a person a right sense of discrimination (Vivek) which in turn helps him to take a right decision and exercise right judgment.
